Sara Tontorova, a photographer and friend, asked me to help out on her current project. Being deaf, she uses photography to explore nature and relationships beyond what she can or can't hear. Her current body of work uses videos to explore how she interacts with those close to her in other ways that don't require verbal communication.
We travelled by bus to get to our location. Once in the forest we scouted out a spot where the ground was flat, and set up the Sony camera. Hitting record, we would place ourselves infront of the camera and interact with one another as we do as friends; embracing each other with hugs, and connecting our pinkies, as a sign of promise.
